Creating new Pega Application using Application Express

Step by step illustration:

Navigate to Designer  Studio Application menu > Select "New Application". Choose the application type relevant to you among the below four options. In this example, we are creating custom type to retrofit our design.

Select appropriate option, here we are planning to create a desktop responsive application.

We can specify the desired application name. In this case study we are trying to build Test application for Tata Organization for Asia Pacific Region w.r.t Transport wing.

Here we need to analyse and fill the below details before we proceed:

Organization name : Tata

Division name : APAC

Organization Unit : Transport

Name of Application : TransportTest

Based on the need, we can keep the above information handy with us.

We can take a look at Enterprise Class Structure by clicking on Advanced Configuration. This is the key step based on which our class structure is generated. So we can double check before we proceed with Save.

Key Point : In this example, we are trying to create a framework PurchaseTest built on PegaRULES, so that it can be reused. it is implementation, then we can opt if our structure would have division or not. If it is implementation, then we can opt if our structure would have division or not. 

Note: when we go for Framework, there won't be any inheritance between Division and Framework layer.

Click Save.

Click Creat Application.

We would be listed with the set of Access groups/{username,password} to login to new application.

We successfully created a new application using above steps. And we are good to switch to new application.
